Do I need to inform the Nail Technician of any medical conditions that I may have?
Yes, please!
You should inform the Nail Technician about ANY heart conditions you may have. A rough foot massage could cause serious risks in a sitting position.
Please, inform the technician if you are pregnant. The massage will have to be slightly modified as to not hit on certain acupressure points on the hands and feet. *Also, inform the Nail Technician about any open wounds, sores, or wart of any kind you may have.
Anything contagious should be treated before a pedicure or manicure. If you have any unknown skin conditions, you should have them checked out by a doctor. Nail Technicians are professionals, highly trained in safety and sanitation, however not medical professionals. SAFETY FIRST!
Why should I avoid waxing or shaving before a pedicure?
Small cuts and abrasions left behind from shaving and waxing could allow bacteria to cause serious infections in ANY salon. Make sure that if you're getting any leg waxing services and a pedicure, be sure to schedule the pedicure first, waxing second.
Do not put off being pampered. We abuse our hands and feet every day and they deserved to be treated well!
